Dundee's Oktoberfest Review

Genessee Brewing Company/Dundee Brewing Company's Oktoberfest
Marzen/Oktoberfest style lager - 5.5% ABV
Drink/avoid: AVOID

As soon as I found out that Dundee beer is associated with Genessee, I became worried. Thoughts of Genny Light or Genessee Cream Ale filled my head like a bad cavity. I reserved any judgements, though, and decided to give this beer as fair a tasting as any other.

It pours with a decent head, but pretty dismal lacing. It looks like moderate carbonation will give this beer the right amount of effervescence. Nutty brown in color.

I'm trying to get a feel for the aroma, but I can't come up with any smell. A mild watery/metallic aroma and a slightly nutty aroma come up. Maybe it needs to warm up a bit. (Even warmer, it's nothing interesting. Maybe slightly malty.)

Decided that my nonic style pint glass was appropriate.

The flavor is mildly nutty with some caramel malts. It's not interesting. I'm pretty disappointed in this beer, because there just isn't much flavor.

I can't recommend this one.
